3 WAYS TO PULL INSPIRATION FROM A LOOK

We’ve all got our favorite fashion gworls (and guys)…

You see them wearing a look that you want to recreate until you realize you don’t own those items and you tell yourself you can’t pull it off, right?

WRONG!
I’m here to tell you that you only need to do three things to accomplish your goal!

SIMPLIFY THE LOOK

Don’t overcomplicate it. Break the outfit down to it’s simplest form and start from there. It’s easier to recreate the look when you think of the pieces as a dress, jeans and boots, for example, versus a strapless black dress with ruffles, oversized acid-wash cargo jeans and black pointed toe boots. Once you’ve comprehended what the pieces actually are, you have a good starting point and you’re able to build on that.

PAY ATTENTION TO THE DETAILS

Pulling out certain details of the look is a great way to weave in inspiration from an outfit you like. Check the example down below as a reference. The original look features a black boot with a gold toe. I already owned black sandals with a gold heel. Not the same exact item but paying attention to those minor details gets my close to what I originally saw.

MAKE IT YOUR OWN

Your style is just that…yours! It’s okay to put your own spin on it. That’s what makes your style unique and original. So don’t worry if the look isn’t exactly like you saw it. The goal was inspiration so anything you create based on that means it’s exactly what it needs to be.
